This week, Donor Dollars at Work would like to introduce Alex Castillo and Shaina Gormley.

Alex Castillo
Alex is a senior at SUNY Oneonta who is completing a major in English Writing. Alex enjoys helping people work towards growth they can be proud of. His other passion is writing. Alex hopes to follow a career in writing after graduation, such as technical writing or grant writing. His interest in non-profit development stems from his passion for helping people and in communicating important information.
“I’m currently enjoying my Springbrook internship because of how beautiful the campus is! Along with the staff, I’ve found that Springbrook’s mission aligns a lot with who I am as a person and what my goals are, which makes me enjoy working with them as an intern.”

Shaina Gormley
Shaina is a second-year student in the SUNY Oneonta Cooperstown Graduate Program. As an intern at Springbrook, Shaina combines her love for education with her current studies. She is learning about the annual fund, planning for capital campaigns, and grant writing.
She studies non-profit management and programming. After graduation, Shaina plans to pursue a career that will allow her to support non-profits through administrative roles.
“It has been incredible learning from so many people who really care about the work they are doing. I am excited to learn more about Springbrook in the coming months!”

Alex and Shaina are a few of the many interns currently working with Springbrook and come from the colleges and universities with whom Springbrook has partnered. These partnerships include SUNY Oneonta, Hartwick College, SUNY Cortland, Russel Sage College, Utica University, and Binghamton University. Student interns are mentored by staff in the therapy department, nursing, administration, and The School at Springbrook.

Please join us in welcoming Alex and Shaina to Springbrook!
