Congratulations, Marissa Del Bene, on your 10-year milestone at Springbrook! Marissa is a certified teaching assistant (CTA) at The School at Springbrook. Marissa has supported people at Springbrook in many different capacities, and her career has taken shape through the many incredible experiences she has had with students at the school and in the homes’ of the residents. Before becoming a CTA, Marissa worked as a direct support professional (DSP) in at Snell House and fondly recalled bringing residents to Rye Beach for their first ocean experience.

In 2007, Marissa completed her student teaching at Springbrook, where her “aha” moment was realized: “I knew I needed to work at Springbrook, where I could make the students’ lives better.” Now, as a CTA, Marissa sets a goal for her classroom by asking herself, “What can I do to make someone’s day better?” These experiences have led to her own transformed outlook on life, one of compassion for herself and empathy for others.
