After moving into her own apartment at Century Sunrise, Jess joined the tenant-led self-advocacy group and quickly found a new social circle of friends. Jess has been elected as the group’s secretary and uses her digital art skills to create eye-catching flyers and calendars for the group’s events. The Self-Advocacy group at Century Sunrise comprises tenants who work with property management to plan social events and communicate tenant concerns. The group regularly holds movie nights, game nights, and karaoke nights, and are most famous for its large community Trunk-or-Treat event in Johnson City. Jess proves that involvement in one’s community can lead to new opportunities and friendships!
