This Veterans Day, we celebrate and remember those who have served. Ryan Ashforth is a veteran who began his career at Springbrook as Assistant Director of Community Homes in the Sidney Plains region in June 2023. He was drawn to the position because he enjoys working with people, and his care for the residents shines through in all he does. A memorable moment for Ryan was during a Labor Day barbeque. Ryan offered to take a resident for a van ride, the resident’s favorite thing in the world. They drove around for a while, jamming to music and enjoying the ride. Ryan also fondly remembers a spontaneous dance party at Johnston Circle community home, a joyful moment shared amongst everyone. Ryan shared that his experience as a veteran has shown him that we all have our struggles every day and has allowed him to relate to residents on a deeper level. He values Springbrook’s mission and the importance of making sure that people with disabilities receive the benefits and care they deserve every day. Being there for residents is the priority in everything Ryan does, and we are so happy he joined Springbrook. Thank you, Ryan, for your service, and happy Veterans Day!
