On Saturday, May 13th, more than 20 Springbrook employees were honored at SUNY Oneonta’s Morris Hall for completing the Direct Support Professional (DSP) I and II Microcredential program—a major milestone in earning college credit and national certification!
This transformative workforce training program, a partnership between SUNY and the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), empowers DSPs with professional recognition, college credit, and career growth opportunities.
SUNY Vice Chancellor Chris White shared, “The work you do as direct support professionals builds communities, and the world needs more people like you.”
Springbrook’s Associate Director of Talent Development, Mat Harby-Conforti, added, “It’s incredible to see the first cohorts complete both SUNY courses and NADSP certifications. I’m so proud of our staff and hope more take advantage of this rare opportunity for free education and credentialing!”
Thanks to a $706,455 grant from Governor Hochul’s office, SUNY Oneonta is one of only six SUNY campuses selected to expand this program, helping meet the growing need for highly trained DSPs in our region.
